The beauty of frost along the Yukon River

I seldom go anywhere without my camera, and yesterday was a good example of why. Cathy and I just had to run into Whitehorse to run a few errands – I’d forgotten my camera but Cathy grabbed it on the way out the door. As soon as we got within sight of the SS Klondike, I knew we’d be making a stop.

The 3 photos below were shot alongside the main access into town from the south, Robert Service Way. The very thick frost on all the trees is caused by the “steam” coming off the open water of the Yukon River in the current temperatures of -20+°C
