Landfill-intercept art

Despite the fact that it was a long weekend and Whitehorse was pretty much a ghost town, the garage sale was a success, and very little had to go to the landfill. A few hundred pounds of paper (mostly photography magazines ) went to Raven Recycling, there’s a small box for Well-Read Books and another for the Sally Ann, and there’s now room in the garage to park both cars this winter. What a concept – a garage that has cars in it instead of excess “stuff”!

While I was doing the final sort yesterday, I was pondering what to do with all my records. There is some very cool artwork, and significant labels such as Tamla Motown. There are also some special memories attached to some of these records – memories of particular events (such my first album purchase – Bill Haley & the Comets – and the music we listened to on grad weekend), and of periods in my life (the term “acid flashback” has some validity! 🙂 ). Luckily, I still had a wall with a large empty section up at the ceiling, and decided to do some decorating. I think it turned out quite well.
