I love my Snowbear snowplow!

The sky yesterday morning was wonderful for a few minutes – these pastels are winter-only colours.

Yesterday was a cleaning-up day, starting with clearing the snow that’s fallen the past few days. Not a lot but if you let it build up it gets tough to move. I thought that some of you might like to see how to do it the easy way (well, easier at least).

When I lived in the cabin I kept the snowplow on the truck throughout the winter, but I’ve been taking it off except when I’m using it this year. The old truck was getting tired and wouldn’t have lasted long as a daily driver, but should last for many years in its current work-only status – firewood, lumber, snowplowing and such. This Snowbear plow weighs just over 200 pounds so is a bit of a grunt to mount.

Get the two pins on the truck as close as possible to the attaching points on the plow.

Lift and shove the plow onto the pins, and put in locking pins.

Plug in the power at two points…

Clip the plow control (raise and lower) onto the window…

Ready to go.

Much easier than shovelling! The driveway at the cabin is almost a kilometre long and takes over an hour to plow, but this driveway takes only a few minutes. At the cabin I plow at high speed too – great fun with snow flying everywhere! 🙂
