Dogs being killed in traps

There seems to be an increase in the number of dogs in Alaska and the Yukon being killed in traps in recent years. The buffer between recreation and trapping areas has apparently been reduced if not eliminated. The death of another dog in Indian, Alaska, has prompted the Anchorage Daily News to post directions on how to release a Conibear trap.
