Back into the mountains – another drive to Skagway

I had to go to Skagway again today (and you know how much I hate that drive!), but today Cathy came with me and we got to spend some time with friends in Skagway. Well, friends of mine, as Cathy hadn’t met them before. While the weather was nothing to write home about, we’ve reached that glorious time of the year when the sunlight has both warmth and colour – it’s no longer a black-and-white world. On a day like this the clouds merely add some drama to the scene.

The first photo was shot just north of Dry Creek, between Emerald Lake and Carcross.

We stopped for our usual run at Tutshi Lake – Monty only has 1 foot touching the ground in this photo 🙂

The final climb up to the White Pass summit.

The White Pass.

Looking towards the sea.

On the way home, I did a U-turn to get a few shots of 5 kite-skiers playing in the high winds on Summit Lake. While most of the sledders and skiers were shutting down because of the wind, these people seemed to be having a great time!
