Autumn on Hospital Ridge – turning hikes into art
Due to serious problems with this site that I don’t yet have a solution to (including not being able to post photos), I am posting blog posts at my main ExploreNorth site for now.
On Tuesday, October 6th, I took Tucker for a walk on the Hospital Ridge Trail which runs along the Yukon River above downtown Whitehorse. This hike was for Tucker, and I kept it to 5.44 km so he would enjoy it, and he did. Along the way, I noticed many plants I wanted to have a much closer look at, which isn’t really what a dog-walk is good for, so I returned by myself two days later. By the time I left home on the second hike, the plan had evolved for the hike to begin as an art-material scavenger hunt, to create another nature mandala as I did with the Bryant Lake hike a few weeks earlier.
