Coward, or just no respect for life?
This is a note to the person driving the silver SUV that ran over a little brown dog at Wolf Creek at about 5:30 last night. You are pond scum. While the little guy did run into your path, you made zero attempt to avoid him and then knowing full well what you’d done kept on going. The person behind you who watched the puppy roll off to the side of the road obviously badly injured and didn’t even slow down needs to do some self-assessment as well.
Yes, stopping did take an hour out of my life and it was an experience I’d rather not have had, and no, my stopping didn’t keep him alive, but at least the last hour of his life was spent with someone caressing him, keeping him warm and talking gently – instead of dying alone and cold, in pain for hours as you were apparently okay with. And his family knows what happened – they did love him and were certain that he was in the house.
The laundry could only wash away the mess and not the memory unfortunately but at least I know I tried to help. Your mother would be proud of what you’ve become…
