The world’s best travel Web site?

Cathy is in major New Zealand mode now (one of us certainly has to be!), and found a remarkable Web site this morning. What’s even more remarkable is that it’s a government site. Te Ara – The Encyclopedia of New Zealand is described as “a comprehensive guide to the country’s peoples, natural environment, history, culture, economy, institutions and society”, and it is indeed. If you’re new to New Zealand, start by browsing, but the further you drill down into the site the more impressive it is. Knowing what some of our government Web sites have cost, I’d like to know what the budget for Te Ara was/is!
