Russian mega-chopper returns to YXY
Posted On April 12, 2009
Thanks to fellow Whitehorse blogger Meandering Michael, I was at the airport at sunrise today to get some more photos of an Mi-26T helicopter, the largest current-production helicopter in the world. The last time this aircraft was in Whitehorse (the only time, I believe) was in early May 2006, and I got lots of photos of it that time. I was hoping that the crew would be getting it ready for flight bright and early this morning – no such luck, but it was great to see it again anyway.
