More about the blog rebuild

Rebuilding the blog is a massive job, but I’m actually quite enjoying it. I’m enjoying both the end result, and the countless wonderful memories that get triggered by it. I now have 246 posts in the new format.

Here’s a look further back. On August 26, 2008, I posted:

You might notice that the blog has a new design (as of 05:30 this morning) – it’s not a radical change by any means, but it is different. The big changes are behind the scenes – it’s an up-to-the-minute design in terms of blog technology (it’s now powered by WordPress 2.6.1), and while I still have some work to do on the template, I hope that there will be no more “bugs” for some of my regular readers to deal with. I was able to keep the random-title-image feature that I enjoy, but almost all of the images are new, and they’re about 20% larger than with the previous design.

This is what the new design looked like, with images now 450 pixels wide.

For a direct comparison, this is the new photo size, 990 pixels wide. This was my purebred Siberian husky, Kodi. Yes, this is a good project 🙂
