Making Winter easier – with a snowblower

Going through photos of our house renovation progress yesterday, I came across some pictures of the snow we got last winter, and was shocked – my memory of being buried in the white crap might have underestimated it.

The two photos below show Cathy digging a pathway into the back yard on the 22nd of February. We have to do a lot of shoveling in places that the truck-mounted plow can’t go, and at that time I was still recovering from the seizures that put me in hospital, so Cathy was doing a lot of it.

Yesterday I also got an email from Sears notifying me that their big Fall sale is on – as well as a bonus code to save an extra 20 bucks. So we went shopping for a snowblower, and after a lot of comparison-shopping at various Web sites came up with a good deal that’s now on its way to Whitehorse. For well under $1300 delivered, this rig is going to help make Father Winter a much less unwelcome visitor.
