iPod Speakers – Finally Found!

You wouldn’t think that finding good speakers for your iPod would be that tough, would you? Okay, “good” is subjective – what I’ve been looking for for a long time is a small portable system with good sound (duh!) to use on the deck. I finally found what I was looking for:

It’s an Altec Lansing inMotion iM5 Mobile Speaker System, and for $65 at Amazon, it’s a fine little unit indeed. It’s not concert sound, but neither is it tinny or shallow like all the others I checked out. Works on AC or 4 AAs, and comes with an excellent padded case for packing in your suitcase or backpack.

The sound is good enough (and the whole system so convenient) that it has now replaced my stereo systems in both homes. The photo shows it’s home in the cabin, among my husky collectibles.
