Flying from Fort Lauderdale to Calgary

November 24: It’s time to leave the warmth. The weather reports from home don’t make that a very happy thing to have to do, but I do miss my home and my fur-kids.

We had a 12:35 Air Canada flight to Toronto and then on to Calgary for the night. That allowed for a relaxing morning, and I got a few photos of the Marriott Harbor Beach resort that I’d missed. There are many water features on the property – this “creek” is on the main walkway to the pool and beach.

This is probably the property’s best “side” for a photo, looking from the Sea Level Restaurant across the pool. Everything about this hotel is the highest quality, from staff to facilities.

You can walk behind a good-sized waterfall that falls into a pool right beside the swimming pool.

We’d heard many, many warnings about how busy FLL would be because of both the increased Thanksgiving traffic and the implementation of new body-scanners. We arrived 3 hours before our flight, and breezed through security. Our flight was delayed because of heavy air traffic, though.

Saying good-bye at 3:55. See ya later, alligator! 🙂

We didn’t arrive at Calgary until after 11:00 pm, but a few minutes later the shuttle to the Acclaim Hotel arrived and we were in bed just after midnight.
