Bucket list destinations with Gap Adventures
My “Bucket List” is a lengthy one, but one that I’m chipping away at. From Antarctica and Greenland to Bora Bora and the Great Barrier Reef, I want to see and experience “everything”! Last year’s highlights from my list were snorkeling with turtles at Bridgetown, Barbados, and scuba diving at Grand Turk.
A presentation last night at the Expedia CruiseShipCenters office by Erin Buttler, Western Canada Sales Manager for Gap Adventures, only encouraged the drive to get out and Explore!
For those of you who don’t know Gap, they’re a Canadian company that is one of the world’s leading cultural/adventure tour operators. Whatever your Bucket List destination, they probably have a tour to it, in a variety of modes from basic to comfort, active to very active. The top destination for the people who attended last night included the Galapagos Islands, Africa, Antarctica and Peru among others.
Peru is the heart of Gap’s operations, with more employees and more tours than in any other country.
Erin describes the Inca Trail, one way to get to Machu Picchu. Gap purchases a very high percentage of the total number of hiking permits issued for the Inca Trail each year!
Seeing wildlife in Africa seems to be on most people’s bucket list. Whether you want to see giraffe, gorillas, lions or elephants, there’s a Gap tour that can get you to the right place at the right time. This is one subject where picking “the right time” is crucial – each species has good viewing periods/locations and poor ones.
Antarctica was one of the destinations that Erin spent the most time on. She went largely because it was “the final continent” for her to visit, but came back with a deep appreciation for what we still have there – as well as a love for penguins!
“We love changing people’s lives” is one of the core values at Gap, and that comes across in everything they do.
I’d love to help change your lives – if you’d like to discuss the vast number of options available to experience the best the world has to offer, please pop me a note. There are some great deals available in many destinations, and among other offers Gap has up to 25% off on last-minute adventure travel packages.
