Alaska’s Governor will cost McCain the election

That’s the forecast I started making a couple of days ago after seeing the comments made at the Anchorage Daily News site in response to the news that Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, and I’m sticking with it.

This article (no longer online) shows that a whole lot of people in the States share that opinion. The millions of “holier-than-thou” electors in the US have proven over and over again that they are a powerful force, and unless McCain ditches Palin he’s going to find out just how powerful.

Despite the political situation Outside, I also forecast that Sarah won’t be hurt by this at all in Alaska, where people are a whole lot more likely to mind their own business. Her approval rating among Alaskans has plummeted since her election, but her family isn’t part of the reason.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin talks to Nome Alaska native 1st Sgt. Dewey Green. Palin visited the Soldiers of 3rd Battalion 297th Infantry Regiment Alaska National Guard to learn about their mission in Kuwait.
