Cutters – an open letter to the High Country Inn
When I rebuilt the blog in 2022, I struggled with whether or not to include this post. In the end I decided to, but I’ve also included a screenshot of the comments on it.
To whom it may concern,
My wife and I went to the High Country for dinner at the patio restaurant a couple of weeks ago – a place we’ve been going occasionally for many years. While the food was good as always, we won’t be back. Our waitress was a “cutter” – a woman who does self-mutilation with razor blades in case you’re not familiar with the term. Who in their right mind would subject people having a meal to a sight like that? While there may be some law that says you have to hire people with mental health challenges, you certainly have the right to insist that those people wear long sleeves.
